Preclinical studies - Phase 0
Pre-clinical studies: stage of research before clinical trials during which important feasibility, iterative testing and drug safety data are collected.
Phase 0: Pharmacodynamics and Pharmacokinetics on a small number of individuals.
Phase 1 - Phase 2
Phase 1: Screening for safety, dosage and side effects on a limited group of individuals.
Phase 2: Experimental treatment given to a larger group of individuals to see if the treatment is effective and to further evaluate the product\'s safety.
